School again!

The kids started school on Tuesday!

Let me tell you guys, it has been such a quiet week! Honestly, I've felt like I'm on vacation with just Owen. :D This is the first time since Sam was 2 that I've only had one at home and not been pregnant with another. This year, we did our school tradition of poster boards, which I plan on doing every year. I can only imagine the dirty looks I'm going to get when they're in high school, and I'm making them hold their little signs up. Haha! The kids had a great first week. Sam got the student of the week award for third grade. After he was done telling us about it, Annaleigh says, "you're going to be really sad mom, but I didn't win a dolphin paper."  Annaleigh had sort of a rough week. I think because she missed the first week of summer school, she didn't have this so much, but a lot of kids have been crying when going into the building, so it's made school harder on her. She has also complained that school is too much having to listen to the teacher, and too much cutting, and gluing, and coloring. Yep. Kindergarten is rough!

In other school related news, I am almost positive that I am going back to school as well! It's a little intimidating having not been in school for ten years, but I'm really excited about it. It's an idea I've been playing with for a few months, but I never thought I'd be able to find a job that would pay well enough for it to be worth going back to work. (I know that sounds horribly snobby, but I'm not trying to be. I have friends that basically work to pay for daycare, and that's not something I care to do...) And after watching Joel take 7 years to get his bachelors, I didn't really want to go down that path. Anyways, after searching, I realized there are some pretty great paying jobs that I can get with only an associates degree. Right now, my top option is a radiology technician (working with x-rays), although I have a few others that I'm looking into (sonography, & respiratory or surgical technician). I've always been really fascinated and interested with healthcare, anatomy, ect, so this is perfect for me. It will also give us a lot more flexibility as far as planning our future if I'm making money as well. Kind of on a morbid note, but Joel likes the idea of me being about to take care of myself should anything ever happen to him. Anyways, like I said, I'm really excited & happy about the prospect! I won't start taking classes until the spring since there's no possible way to get financial aid before then, but at least that will give me more time to make a final decision.
